Hands On Volunteer Vacations
Bohol project
Call for Volunteers!!!
Do a volunteer vacations in Bohol that will contribute to community development and ecological protection. This volunteer work is highly technical in nature but volunteers will be briefed and trained within the 12-day duration.
Volunteers needed: 8 to 10 persons only
Volunteer schedule: Every 1st to 12th of the month
Every 16th to 27th of the month
*Confirmation of participation should be two weeks before the volunteer schedule.
Location: Baclayon town, Bohol province, Philippines
HOVV joining fee: $40
Project fee: $1,000, which includes:
° Rationed food;
° Stay on the boat, fuel;
° Project materials;
° Volunteer packets;
Volunteers will:
° Pledge to the project for 12 days. Volunteers will stay for most of the duration of the project on boat with a few days of briefing, training and compilation on land;
° Assist scientists in identifying the biology of whales and dolphins;
° Gather data for dolphin stranding response and rescue;
° Work with local partners for community development and ecological protection.
Volunteers should bring:
° Camera
° Binoculars
° Sleeping bags
The following will be provided but volunteers may bring their own:
° Biscuits, extra food (as long as they are within the weight limit per person on the boat);
° Life vest;
° Drinking water (bring chlorine tabs as a preventative measure)
Imagine 12 days of fun, adventure, and good cause as you interact with the local community, the scientists, and the marine life!
