Justin Martinez is from Guam. He was scheduled for a trip to the Philippines and thought to take the opportunity to also volunteer while in the country. He never expected his experience would bring so much joy, not just to him, but also to the children of Childhouse, a half-way home for families from the provinces who are in the capital for treatment.

”I enjoyed it very much and really appreciate it for getting me in contact with such a great organization,” Martinez shared. “I’m not sure how useful I was during my time at Child house, but the children really seemed to enjoy having me around and spending time with me.  It just made me happy to see them excited to play with me, and I was glad to be able to bring them so much joy, however brief my stay,” he added.

Children staying in Childhouse come to Manila for treatment. Some of them suffer from serious illnesses. Without any resources or relatives in Manila, the Childhouse become their temporary home.
